Seek to have a Memorial Moment Each Day

American flag stuck on the Finial

I think of Lieutenant Michael Murphy as the Memorial Day weekend comes. A Navy Seal earning the Medal of Honor for his conspicuous gallantry during operation enduring freedom.

In president Bush’s address for the ceremony. There is a statement he makes that becomes highlighted.

“Yet his grace and upbringing never deserted him. Though severely wounded, he said “thank you” before hanging up, and returned to the fight ”

Why there? It was appropriate not to say thank you and return to the fire fight.

It was something that he was habitual and intentional with his character. People get caught up in life with the Busyness and trivial matters of life. I’ve distinguished what is important and what matters in my own life. This Memorial Day weekend I reflect that I continue the legacy of excellence with intention of being excellent. I’ve done my best so far and I hope I represent those ideals and qualities that they aspired and attained. That they would want me to enjoy life

If you don’t have any hero’s to strive for, then what are you becoming?

I listened to the address and the citations of his actions and reflect.
